After years of planning and development, Gulf Shores International Airport is set to welcome outbound low-cost nonstop flights to 6 destinations starting May 21.

In partnership with Allegiant Air, the airport will offer its first-ever commercial nonstop service to Houston, Knoxville, Cincinnati, Belleville, IL/ St. Louis, MO, Kansas City and Northwest Arkansas. The routes were chosen to connect the Gulf Shores and Orange Beach region with a variety of vacation destinations, making travel from Alabama's famous beaches easier and more affordable.

According to airport officials, one-way fares will cost as little as $49. Allegiant provides travelers with affordable direct flights during peak travel times with strong demand, such as holidays, summer, weekends and school breaks.
